    George,
what caps did you in the mod?
I really want this pre...........but can't handle the 5 spot at the moment. I am sure with all the mod work done on this pre your asking price is a sweet deal. I'm sure it would be here when I can save up for it.

Wow....my typing grammar sucks....I just re-read my previous post. What I meant to type was "what caps did you use in the mod?" and I meant to type "I'm sure it won't be here when I can save up for it"
    My apologies

I'm listening to mine now and it's just magical.

I just put in some Amperex Bugle Boy ECC81's that were part of the package I purchased. These are pretty great tubes for not much money...

As promised,, input caps are Russian teflons IIRC,, output are Obligatto's,,, signal tubes are nos Mullard CV4024,, the rectifier is a 5Y3 Wgt JAN circa late 60's or early 70's. funtionally just fine.I am selling this because I recently picked up a Joule. I think that I still have the original box too.Remote works fine(volume only).
    Thanks for looking.

    Good luck with the sale!

This is a great Pre when it's stock. With the upgrades, I don't want to think of what you would have to spend to really best it...

Really? This is still around? I owned one of these briefly and was very impressed. Only reason I sold it was that I needed a phono stage, and once I did the math I realized that the price that I could get by selling the 2000a, plus the cost of a phono stage, plus the cost of cables to connect the phono stage and the 2000a, I could pay for the Dared MC7P. The 2000a sold me on the quality of Dared enough to jump up to the MC7P. This is a really good preamp, not sure why it's still around.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
