Got the e-mail yesterday....
Audio Fidelity is proud to introduce something new in the realm of compilation albums - for the first time ever we have assembled the original masters of some of rock's biggest stars and greatest hits and remastered these classics for Hybrid SACD.

We have partnered with Time Life to create the Time Life "LEGENDS" series on Audio Fidelity Hybrid SACDs.

With our first two titles, Crank It Up! and Get It On! We have taken each volume of recordings to another sonic level. You have never heard a hits collection of such consistently high standards. It's like hearing these classic hits for the first time.

Steve Hoffman, the master of mastering, has assembled all the Rock & Roll standards on Hybrid SACD to ensure the ultimate sound experience. Audio Fidelity has spent months gathering the 34 best available individual masters of the all-time rock standards included on each Hybrid SACD.

Rock heavyweights, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Elton John, The Moody Blues, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne, The Kinks, The Doors and more make this collection an essential for any classic rock lover.

LEGENDS is the ultimate compilation at the ultimate sonic level. A truly unique listening experience!

The track listing for Crank It Up! is below....

Steve Hoffman posted the below....
I thought this was a secret, guess not. The work is over, the result? Amazing. Hardest thing I ever worked on. AF gave me the challenge: Can we reproduce a pair of Time-Life rock comps using all album versions from master tapes, to DSD/SACD?

The answer: Damn near killed me, but yes.

I don't have the track listing handy but if you ever wanted to hear a high rez version of some of these songs, this will probably be the ONLY place they will ever be released. All the studios cooperated, we got the Moody Blues transferred in the UK under my supervision. Master to DSD, album version of NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN. Wait until you hear Elton's DANIEL, amazing high-rez sound. And even WILD THING by the Troggs is in true DSD! Crazy.

Oh, the Foreigner stuff (FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME and HOT BLOODED) sound so amazing right from the masters. You'll hear.

Oh, and if you love LIGHT MY FIRE, you will hear the original correct speed version of the album version in stereo for the first time.

Better grab these. If you do and they sell, we will do more (thought it might kill me). I'm sure there is at least one or two beloved songs on each volume for you high-rez SACD fiends to feast on....

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Since they went to DSD, I wonder if they will be available as DSD downloads. That would be awesome.

I have NO idea, doubt it but it's not up to me or Audio Fidelity, it would be a Time-Life decision.
