I have a California audio labs dx-1 cd player that I recently purchased (used) from an audio dealer on the west coast. it seems to run VERY warm, meaning the disk tray and whatever cd I've just played are very warm when the cd is done playing. I've been told by the dealer that this is common with cal audio cd players; it's just the way they are. my sony never exhibited this. has anyone else had a cd player that "normally" ran warm like this? thanks for any input.

Yes. A Euphonic Technologies ET-650, which was a modded Phillips or Magnavox (Mahaganavox) 650. It weighed a ton with the heat sinks. Sounded great though.

yup. same with the dx-1, George. the sound is awesome. also pretty heavy for a cd player.
