I was out in the garage and knock over a stack of old cassettes tapes. Brought them into the house and fired up the Pio CT-M66R and just listen while I wrote out some bills. All the music is old 80's stuff from when I was in the Marines.

I listen to cassette's often & enjoy it. Most i bought back in the day. I still do record on tape also. Kinda fun & brings me back to the 70/80's era...

I still remember my first few cassettes. I got Quiet Riot- Metal Health for Christmas in 1983ish along with my first "boom box". My second and third tapes were copies of Motley Crue- Shout at the Devil and ACDC- Back in Black from a friend.
It was always fun trying to tape a song off the radio. Scrambling to hit record, knowing full well you're going to miss the first 5 seconds of the song. And trying to cut it off prior to the DJ talking again.
Good memories.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

I used to have a Teac Z6000 cassette player that I ADORED. It could be tweaked/optimized to any tape used in it by adjusting bias pots on the front. The only thing I could find beautiful enough to replace it was a Teac X2000RBL R2R. Oh, those were the days...
Still remember the system at the time:

I just can't make myself retire my unit. Its so rare (6 cassette changer) with HX Pro and auto cassette sensor to adjust the tape type in use. I originally pick it up back in 91 when I had loads of cassettes that I had made copies of my vinyl. I have one in there now playing the old Prince "Sign of the Times" Album on a Maxell Metal and it is clear as the day I copied it. The only other unit I really wanted was one of the Nakamichi Dragon unitsFamily Room HT 7.2/i]:Vizio Oled55h1 Pioneer Elite SC-LX502 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Eversolo DMP A6 Panamax M5300-EXSpeakers Fronts Fluance XF8L Center Polk Audio S35 Side Surrounds Fluance bipolar Rear Surrounds FluanceXF8 Bookshelf Subs SVS PB4000 x2 Living room 2ch: Crown Xli 1500 amp x2, Teac EQ MKII FX Audio X6 Mk II DAC Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Tower Speakers Panamax M5100-EXOffice media room:Vizio M50Q6 50" Pioneer Elite VSX LX301 Eversolo DMP-A6 Polkaudio R600 Towers Polkaudio Center R350 Panamax M4300 Monoprice 12" subMaster bedroom:Vizio M55Q7 Pioneer Elite VSX LX302 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Bookshelf fronts, Rears Fluance Signature Bipolar Polk Audio CS10 center Monoprice 12" sub Panamax M5300-EX

My first REAL system was built around an AIWA cassette deck in '89-'90. I bought a set of DB Plus 440s (6" Canadian two ways with the poly cell tweeter--also used by Infinity around that time), and a cheap Pioneer integrated of 15 watts x 2 or so, my roommate's girlfriend was going to throw away!
I was in NYC, at the time, so I spent a LOT of time at the Tower Records ANNEX which was FULL of old LPs and cassette tapes at bargain prices. Still have a couple hundred cassettes from that time and the AIWA, which has new belts. As well as a RatShack SCT-33 (probably a rebadged Hitachi).
Within a year I'd bought my first CDP. A Sony.

I also could not bring myself to dump my old Denon Cassette deck. It's in the closet "just in case", and every year or so I find another cache of tapes in a box or on a shelf in the closet and go through them. FLASH BACK!Receiver: ONKYO TX-NR929 7.1 AVR 130wpc

Nice looking Sony tape player Mhardy..I picked up a package deal 1.5 years ago & picked up this 1971 Advent 2 cassette player w/dust cover & surprisingly enough it works very well for being 40+ y/o. Not quite as good as my Nakamichi 500 but that one i have to use a pencil on the play button (jerry rig:) till i fix it..
