This is one of my all time favorite albums. The copy I have before buying the one linked was slightly abbreviate and, since I got an SACD player for Xmas, decided I'd try and find an SACD version. Couldn't, so I bought this remastered Japanese version.

Played it last night and the first thing I did was look at the album art for the SACD logo - it's that good. Very high sound quality and exceptional liner notes with lots of cool historical info. Also, has 4-5 outtakes that there wasn't room for on the original double LP. The quality of these is equal to all the other tracks.

Highly recommended: http://www.importcds.com/music/1062047/little-feat-waiting-for-columbus-mini-lp-sleeve

I think it's the best live rock album extant, full stop (and irrespective of complaints about over-dubbing after the fact).
The fact that it sounds superb is just a bonus.

I still prefer the MoFi half-speed mastered on licorice pizza -- but I am sure the SACD is pretty darned dandy.
I have the Rhino expanded two (redbook) CD version and it's pretty good, too.

The one I bought (see link in OP) is the deluxe Rhino version. The liner notes are full of fascinating stuff about the band, interpersonal dynamics at the time, trivia, etc., but the type is s-o-o-o-o small.

Would love to hear the MoFi version at some point and do a comparison.

My top live rock albums include: Johnny Winter And . . . Live; Allman Bros. Live at the Fillmore East. Working up to buying the Japanese 2010 SACD of the latter, but it's $50+.

I have read so much about Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East -- I never much cared for them, but I know there's a copy on LP in the basement (someplace); I've got to dig it out and give it a listen.

AB at Live at The Fillmore East is a truly spectacular album IMO, but you have to have the time and patience to listen as there are several brilliant long jams. There's so much going on in their live music: jazz-rock-blues. Dwayne and Dicky were big fans of Django Rheinhart; Jai Johanny Johanson came from a jazz background and all of this comes through in their live renditions. The ABB were described as a southern rock band, but to me this implies Lynard Skynard, 38 Special kind of music. Couldn't be a less apt description.

I have it on LP and also on a CD named The Fillmore Concerts, which contains the original Live at The Fillmore East songs, along with the live tunes from Eat A Peach (recorded at the same concert). The Limitations of the LP back in the day prevented all of it from being included on the original release. The Fillmore Concerts is a quite decent mastering of this recording and not too expensive. If you like the LP I recommend getting one of the CD versions as you'll be able to hear much more music continuously - no flipping of the record. Made a big difference to me.

I just ordered the 2010 Japanese remaster SACD. Hope they did as good a job with this as they did with WFC.
