Thanks to dawgfish and darrel, I will be looking to rehab some crs sdas, inside and out.
Dont have them yet, so not sure exactly what will be needed, but will be doing the dynamat and hurricane pins for sure, and the ics have some type of problem, may or may not be fixable.
Will need to repair or replace the crossovers, and relaminate the cabs, or maybe do something special with some nice wood cladding and finish, i have a shonuff carpenters shop, as well as some family members who could keep up with Norm Abrams, so why not consider it.
How much to refurb the crossovers (ballpark), again, until i get my hands on them, I wont know what they actually need.
Will def. want to get the upgrade tweets, and disconnect the 2 unnecessary tweets.
Any advice, as always, most appreciated.

Good luck with your project Scott. Ive got to do some work on my 2b's soon. They sound great, but when i moved them today i noticed something is loose on inside. I just keep having things pop up with other hobbies & wallet says no LOL..

The cost can vary significantly based on your ability to do the work yourself and the quality of the parts you go with. If you have a good soldering station the XO's are not hard too hard to de-solder and re-cap.

Scotty and I will be doing the mods ourselves. For now we are going to dynamat and armaflex the mws, install hurricane nuts, repair the sda cable, disconnect the dimensional tweeters, change the stereo tweeters to RDO-194s, and re-venneer the cabinets. I have a mint set of the original CRSs that I did all of the aforementioned mods (except interconnect repair and re-venneer since neither was needed) and they sound fantastic. We'll do those mods and see how they sound before deciding to do any crossover work. I honestly don't feel any need to mod the crossovers on my CRSs after doing the aforementioned mods. I want to give a big shout out to Derrick for providing the fixer upper CRSs. I think he is going to regret letting them go after hearing them after Scotty and I get through with them.

Cool project guys. I've got a set of early (2 tweeter) CRS's that need some crossover work done. The cabs are perfect and they look great, I just haven't had time to try to figure out where I have a loose connection on the Left speaker. Tell you what Tn, maybe you can meet us at Scotty's when we are doing the mods so you can look inside the cabinets at the crossovers to compare to yours to see if anything is disconnected or missing. I know I have a much easier time with direct comparisons opposed to looking at wiring diagrams. That would be a great excuse to come down and shoot the bull with a beverage or two anyways! :-)

They worked fine at one point, but it would cut in and out and I could fix it by tapping on the binding post cup in the back....then I disconnected a few wire from one of the mids, and I'm not sure how to reconnect since I think each side is opposite. Not rocket science but just haven't had the time or desire to fool around with them. I need to get them back working and sell them. Will do, probably will be a week or two. I know the CRS+ is the more desirable model, but the dual tweeter versions are excellent also. They are really easy to fix, simply disconnect the dimensional tweeters! I'm very pleased with mine. Scotty and I were discussing the fact that there is a common misconception that the CRSs are subpar compared to the larger SDAs. I dont find this to be the case at all, in fact in smaller to medium sized rooms the CRSs are not giving up anything to the larger ones except for the very low end. I'm running a REL sub with them and the combo is not lacking for anything.

Looking forward to this, might be more like 2 weeks, travis, you are more than welcome, would be a good excuse to get the trundle bed out.
