nope not at all just loud enough that in softer music passages very noticeable. All I did was unplug my gear and weeks later plug it back in nothing changed except new IC's put old IC's in same thing. So wasn't them, I hate cheater plugs but low and behold had to have one so I took ground wire off plug. If cheater plug ground screw point made contact with outlet screw had same problem so I just disconnected the wire. Let me be clear here I'm not advocating you do that but use your best judgment after you try the plug.

I have already sent the unit to the original guys tech no charge and if there is a charge the seller is picking it up..
my HUM is VERY loud no chance to even play music I would not bother..
He already to me I could just return it full refund as he just had it serviced but never tried it out when tech brought it back because he had his new one running..
He is visually impaired so I did not want to mess with his gear while I was there..
I trusted him, he's not going anywhere..

I had the same problem with a Rogue amp I bought. It turned out to be a bad tube.

Ding, ding, ding! I just read this about your new pre. I had the same thing happen with my Rogue amp, switched some tubes out and it went away. Also when tube rolling with my ROGUE amp, if any tube is not completely seated, it will have a loud hum. Wish I would have seen this earlier as that would have been the first thing I would recommend to check. Hopefully thats all it is.

Ya I pulled the tubes and checked for anything abnormal and reseated them and the loud hum was still there..
I did not have any other tubes to try as this was my first venture into anything tube related..
I even rotated the tubes to different sockets , no help..
I might call the guy today and see if it's ready hopefully, I'm excited to hear this thing..
