I am placing my SubWoofer right behind my Front Rti8 .
I get the correct bass but not sure if this will cause any problem.

Any responses will be really appreciate..

What could be the problem? If it sounds good to you then leave it there.

Try the search feature there are lots of posts on sub placement written by more knowlegeable people than my self.
Wish I was a polkologist then I could call my self Dr.warviper.

I reread the post. Is your concern the fact that the rti8 are ported right and your not sure if the pressure going back in the port on the speakers? I have some ls90s and I have thought about this also maybe a knowlegable person could respond.

I would make sure that there is minimum of 3 inches clearance for the ports on both the sub and mains. Subs usually sound the best in a corner but you can experiment here if you have the room. You can use the "subwoofer crawling" method as well. Do a search for this and read up. Also if you have a decibel meter you can run some bass sweeps in different sub placements and check out the response curve. You may have some peaks and nulls in the FR that you can eliminate and get a flatter response. There are some threads on this as well.

Let us know if you need more help or can't find something.

Thanx for the reply .. Rti'8's are almost more than feet away from the back wall..Sub is 6 inches away from wall but I am planning to hide sub behind my Left Rti8. I was just wondering that Keeping these 2 in close proximity will not cause any damage ..

Since i am know in this just want to make sure I am doing correct setup.

    Any resposes will be appreciated...

Thanx for the help.I am placing my Syb behind my front left Rti8.I just called polk to get more info on the same and they told me not to block Sub completly by front Speaker.
Another problem for me is my Sub and Front Left speaker are very close to side passage which connect to my other rooms I hope i am not loosing any bass in this process.

I highly recommend getting an SPL meter from Radio Shack, so you can experiment with placement and get meausured results.
