Finally today i placed the order for a Cary SLP05. Had lot of churning between JC2 and SLP05
There is a two weeks wait time for them to make one.
I never thought i would spend so much dough for a Audio equipment.
Hope i didnt get carried with this cary.....
Cant wait to hear how it sounds......

Congrats! SLP-05 is awesome to say the least. But you really need to try Psvane (formerly Shuguang Treasures) CV-181 for 6SN7.
We had a shootout between 4 different types of NOS 6SN7 variants last week and CV-181 wins hands down.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

I think i should first listen to stock setup for few months before i can start playing around the tubes....
can you give me link to that thread... -

Yes, try to compare the stock vs. CV-181, Mullard, Tung Sol and RCA; etc. You owe it to yourself to try out for better tube but stock tube is undoubtedly sux! But you'll be spending a lot of $$$ to come to the conclusion.
Sorry but there is no thread to read. It was a private event for a few guys including myself. I took my CV-181 and NOS Mullards and Sylvania for the comparison. The other guys also brought their best 6SN7. No pictures were taken. Solemn oath were taken not to leak the location and the time and the date taken place. No camera were shot. No barbecue were charred. No wife were informed what we did, etc.
But I can say this - Preamp is ASL Flora that uses 2 x 6SN7. Amp was 45 (1.5 Watt) Tube Amp. Speakers were the DIY type. Source was a CD Player.
For NOS tube sake, I have a $1500 Hickok Tube Tester to make sure the NOS tubes are really NOS and not some junk and they are up to the standard.
If you want to read about the greatness of CV-181, there are tons of thread on the net so just google for it.
Do Not Take the Chinese Made CV-181 lightly because it was made in China. Try it out yourself and you'll be pleasantly surprised. But buy from the reputable sources like Grant Fidelity and not from eBay sellers which will have a BIG QUESTION MARK next to the tubes for the quality of the tubes.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair.
