    great write up Tom. Sounds like exactly what I need as I only have 1 room with carpet and then some area rugs on the hardwood floors.

    And one additional thing I'd recommend for home cleaning are some brushes that attach to your drill. Here is a good example. Great for cleaning showers, a caked up frying pan, or anything else with a stubborn stain on it.

    Don't use brushes ( especially rotary) on carpets with cut pile. It will destroy the twist built into them which is what makes them fluffy and springy.
