Cary Customer Service ?

For a premium company like Cary I expected decent reviews for customer service .... At least from price point of view they should provide decent customer service right?...

But to my dismay I see long list of pissed of customers ....

Do any of you guys have any experience with their customer service? I do understand no matter what the brand is, we have unsatisfied customers here and there but Cary seems be little way off.. is it?


How is Cary CS compared to Parasound?

Do you guys care for CS when you buy your stuff?

    The people I know with Cary gear, their analog gear anyway, never seem to have a need for their CS. Though I too have noticed the amount of CS complaints in recent years. Seems a lot of complaints circle around the processors and digital elements rather than the quality of their analog. Which is what they are known for and have built well in the past.

    I know your thinking about the SLP 05, A top pre....a fantastic pre at that....but also consider shipping it with insurance should something go wrong....isn't going to be cheap. Same can be said, to be fair, about any high ticket item.

    Always a good idea to scope out some hi-fi shops in your area that know how to do repairs or upgrades on higher end gear. Analog parts are easy....it's the digital and complicated designs that may be proprietary that will have to go back to the manufacturer.

    I purchased a used SLP-98 and have zero issues with it. Then went out on a limb and decided to "improve" and already satisfying pre. Cary CS has always been very responsive and helpful in the 10 or so convoes I had with them. Maybe it was BC I was sending more $$ their way, I dunno. My experience was a good one.

    FWIW, give the 98 a listen, mine sounds awesome! (before and after the mods)
    Mods include the Hexfreds, direct coupling and HT by-pass . . .
