Well, it's been slow around here, so I thought I might take a few pics of the 2-ch room and invite some criticism. Have at it boys.

Do you guys think I should look into doing some cable management?

Maybe I'll just spend my time listening to music while I fix that Sansui receiver. After all the boxes make for nice acoustic treatments.

I'm trying to remember what I shipped you in the big white box, that's certainly my 'fragile' marking.

What model RTR's are those? What ARE we seeing in the pics. I can make out a Dynaco preamp, and your periscopes, that's about it.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    I love it ...

Not only stacked speakers, but stacked everything ...

It would appear to be a little short on sitting room though.

Have you experimented with room treatment? I think if you move some of those boxes back behind your gear rack you might get better imaging

I think we should play, "Name that Equipment"....

Top shelf right is an ST-70 Dynaco.

2nd shelf is a Dynaco Pre... I'll say PAS 3

Is that a SoundCraftsman EQ on the third shelf?

If not PAS 3 then it's a PAS with a Silver face plate.

    Is the EQ an SAE?

looks like a Pioneer EQ I had a long long time ago
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

Electronics - left to right, top to bottom

    1 - AMC CD8b CD player, Dynaco ST-70
2 - AMC 1100 Preamp atop a Dynaco PAT4 pre, AVA SUPER PAS4i tube preamp (in black)
3 - BSR EQ-3000 atop a Pioneer SG-9 EQ, Soundcraftsmen PCR-800 amp, AA "Dac in the box"
    4 - Sansui TU-3900 tuner

    Floor:
Dual 510 TT atop a Garrard (?) TT

    Speakers:
12" full range in DIY BR cabs sitting atop Monitor 10Bs, the periscopes.

The RTRs in the second picture are Series IV Model A and it (the other one isn't seen) is atop an Altec Lansing Segovia.

I'm really enjoying this AVA PAS4i. It's a Van Alstine original with Telefunkens in the phono and Cryo'd Pearls for the line levels. It has stepped attenuators and dual outs. I switch between the Polks with the Soundcraftsmen and the full range with the Dynaco.

I would enjoy giving those periscopes a good listning. They are probably very unique in sound.

The cure for all the boxes is a case of beer on a Saturday, good tunes and just start chucken. Been there and still am... since my move the boxes found a home in the garage and the vehicles sit outside in all this crappen ice and snow.

Well, I got the case of beer and started chuckin'. The problem is that I now have more gear out, more peanuts than this gallery, even more empty bottles (10c deposit), and need to take a stack of boxes to the recy' center.

The good news is that I changed the stylus in the Dual and was listening to it most of the night.:D
