I was looking around at the Pioneer website (I've got some old floor standing speakers in my room, looking for a replacement tweeter) and I came accross the new Pioneer Digital Sound Projector.

You can read about it here. Sounds really crazy. It's one unit that you put on top of your tv or on a wall or something and it gives you 7 channel surround sound. To set it up you get an authorized Pioneer retailer to come into your listening room and take measurements/sound readings, they make some calculations with their software, and then send the information back to the unit. It has it's own amp, you just have to feed it the digital signal from your DVD player or other digital audio source. It has a 500 watt amp built in and 247 speakers! This sounds crazy, and too good to be true. I'd have to hear one in action before I'd think that it was possible. It seems (or maybe it IS) unbelievable that those tiny speakers would be able to produce the low frequencies needed for a decent sound system. So what do you think? Sorry if this has been posted before.
HT Setup:
Pioneer VSX-D912K
Polk CSi30 Center
RM6005 Satellites (Fronts/Surrounds/Rear Center)
Nameless 10" Sub
