Hi,
I am NOT selling these. Someone I know is and I'm not even sure if they would sell here?
What I need is for you guys to chime in on the prices and items below.
Tell me what you think "fair price" is.
Thanks!
I know, I know, we need model numbers, tube manufacturers, etc. I'm trying to get those. This person has no experience selling gear! Hopefully I'll have all that soon.

I might be interested in the Golden Tube Audio amps, depending on the model and if they have been worked on already to stop them from catching fire. If you wanna get that info from your friend.
If they are the SE-40 amps, then $1000 for the set is pretty reasonable. They normally go for $500-600 in good condition, I think. -

Thanks, I'll get that to them ASAP. There may be some lag time here though.
I was thinking they might be SE-40s but I've never seen them so, have to wait.

You know the value/price of the Grado cartridge is going to depend steeply on the model - e.g., is it a Grado Black or GradoThe Statement 1?

Thanks. Good point, and though I'm not big into tables, I do know that the price variance in Grados is great. I've tried to explain that to the seller.
Still waiting on this!

Update on info above.
All this belonged to a friend's father who died about five years ago. Not sure if the amps have had any work done on them but they are
Golden Tube SE-40 Mono Blocks (25-40 watts depending on tubes).
I believe the sextet of tubes are Winged C 6L6GC (WC). Not sure on manufacture.
The Grado cartridge box says Reference, and Platinum 1. The Cartridge casing is wood.
Audio Alchemy is a VAC phono pre?
And the Rega Planar 2 has no modifications that we are aware of.
Thanks to everyone and special thanks to mhardy!

The Sextet of tubes, are they new/used. Matched from a dealer? Winged =C= is the manufacturer. Is he willing to break those up? Just a little note, Winged =C= tubes were made in St. Petersburg Russia and are no longer being manufactured so the price has increased slightly because of this. Matched pairs of factory firsts from reputable dealers are about $90-110.
Pictures would help. I might be interested if he wants to break them up. But I'd need a lot more info since I can buy new from a dealer for about $45/ea.
Hope this helps

Thanks Brock.
I'll have to get back to you and maybe get some pics if I can. My impression is that this is a "matched" set of six. As to new or not, again, not sure. It's been difficult to get the info on this.
These tubes, no doubt were for the amps above, maybe back up. More to come...may take a little while though.

That's a good cartridge :-)

I may be interested in some of the 6l6WC tubes if he is interested in breaking them up also. Not sure how many Brock would want.

Regarding the Grado, that is a good cartridge. The Reference Platinums generally go for around $200ish used. $350 is generally what the next model up the Sonata goes for. Just an FYI.

Not sure if the amps have had any work done on them but they are
Golden Tube SE-40 Mono Blocks (25-40 watts depending on tubes).
Whether they have been worked on is this question that will come up from anybody looking to buy those amps. They were [in]famous for being shipped from the factory with parts operating at or near their maximum operating points and just waiting to fail.
