I have tried to contact, with no luck yet. The best I can do would possibly be Monitor 11, in which case this seems like a steal. any thoughts?

They look like early SDA's. Hard to tell size, but SDA 2's or 2A's.

I know this is conjecture until I talk to the seller, but would that be worth $100 and a 3 hour round trip? I have not heard the SDA effect yet.
And I have no use for the receiver, so for all I know, I could offer $50 just for the speakers.

100 bucks would seem fair. Not sure what they would do with a receiver with no speakers. You can always dump it off. Looks like early 2's studio's ? Too bad no pic with covers off-go get em

Ya things move fast for that kinda price. That receiver can easily bring over $25 or use in garage etc...

If it's any consolation, I have RTA-11T that you also have listed in signature and I find them much better than the 2B's except of course the SDA effect.
May be SDA is not a thing for me as I've had 4 pairs of SDA's (CRS+, SDA-2B Studio and Standard, 3.1TL's) and none of them lasted too long.
But you should try SDA's once to see if that's for you.

Yeah, I'd say stay away from SDA. I had RTA11T's and the SDA's blew them away. Sounds like it's either not for you or possibly you might not have had them set up right in the ideal room or a little of both.

    Different strokes........

P.s. Blew my LSi 9's out of the water too! But I used to sell SDA's back in the day (couldn't afford them as I was in college) so I have had a soft spot for them for a long time.

I'm not over them and if chances come, I'll snag SDA's again but it's just that I'm not longing for them neither miss them.

Tell me you never cared for any of these models Mystery. Steve keep looking I had to jump when these all came up each time the sellers would say they had a bunch of calls but the first one that cash shows up with cash gets them. I haved passed on a few other pairs due to poor shape, but they are not hard to locate in our neck of the woods I will keep an eye out for you.

Brock is right. SDA 2Bs vs. RTA11ts, no contest. The win goes to the SDAs. Even if you remove the IC cable and run them non-SDA (which I don't recommend), they should keep up FINE!

well, this morning was the first I saw the ad, and even though he included his phone, it does not indicate he did not have the internet. So, I'll just have to settle for doing the best I can, and hope that someday I find a great deal. I have my newly refinished 5JR in right now, burning in, and I am very much enjoying these speakers, so I guess I didn't need anything new right now (yeah... who am I kidding....).

Thanks everyone... I always appreciate the responses.

Early SDA 2s. I was the buyer. Ambiophonics gave me the heads up on em yesterday morning and I made arrangements to pick them up this morning.

    Sorry Steve. :-(

As did I. The RTA15TL's are long gone while I still own the 2BTL's. It wasn't even close.
