Just curious, and I know I will be blasted, but did anyone else think the last LotR was way too painfully moronically long? I felt myself get older in the theater. I would have paid twice as much to see the ESPN highlight reel of LotR. Plus the witty banter of Stuart Scott could have only improved this time toilet.

Stuart Scott: "...and Legolas draws back his bow and...BOOOYAH...right between the orc's eyes!"

Just wait for the 4 hour 10 minute extended DVD version later in the year. Yep, 50 minutes will be added.

By the way, I loved ROTK! Peter Jackson nailed it!

LOTR's is the ONLY movie series I can SIT THROUGH the ENTIRE thing without sleeping or getting bored. Especially the 3rd one, tons of action! Just how I like it!

John, I heard that 1 hour 5 minutes was being added back in.

This is THE best trilogy of this generation, a master piece of film making that does not get any better.

    Hell, even better!

I think the one big scene going in is the "Fate of Saruman" scene. I think it takes place after the Ents destroyed Isengard. Saruman was trapped in the tower and something happens to him. Never read the books so I don't know what it is.

I'm hoping ROTK sweeps the Oscars. Will be the first fantasy film to win best picture.

What are your favorite parts of the movie? I have two,
1: When Pippin is singin a song for whats his face(sorry), and Faromir and some other riders are riding to attack Gondor and
2: When the Roheram(sp) rides down and wipes out most of the orcs, that was pretty sweet.

    1. Legolas single handedly takes out the Olephant.

    2. Aragorn tells the Hobbits they bow to no one and everyone else bows to them. Just a very cool part!

While not in complete agreement, i.e., I did like ROTK, I have to say it was the weakest of the trilogy. Was disappointing because TTT was the low point in the books, and as strong as that movie was, I'd hoped for more from ROTK.

Among other things I found ROTK's CGI integrating the hobbits with humans to be the most unrealistic of the three. The final sceens looked like a bad photoshop job.
    More later,

Well, I bought the books to re-read I learned that if you cross your eyes while reading you can hear the words in Dolby 2.0 I let out a few good belches and some gas but was not able to master decent room shaking LFE.

    Love LOR!!!!!!!!!!!:D
