    Welcome to Club Polk!

What kind of budget are we talking?

I'd recommend the Pioneer SC-1223 in the under $1000 bracket (you might be able to find it on a good discount). Should have most of what you need and excellent sound for both movies and music! If that's too much, there are other suggestions we could present.

Oh, my bad. You want a stereo amp?

Integrated OK? Or do you want a stereo receiver?

Most integrateds do NOT have a USB port.

    Of the receivers:

The Onkyo TX-8050 does have a USB/Ipod port on the front and DACs for input from a digital player on the back, toslink or coax. And decent power.

The Yamaha N-500 also has the same but has an MSRP above $500.

The new Harman Kardons HK 3700 and 3770 are also so equipped and more in your price range.

And then there's the compact Marantz M-CR510.

I'd listen to some of these if you can.

As far as MOST budget friendly, I'd have to say Onkyo.

Great! Thank you again for your time.
What's your take on the Yamaha A s500? For the same set of speakers?

I second (or third?) the Harman/Kardon recommendation. They IMO make the best stereo-only receivers today that you can find for a reasonable price. If you want to spend a lot less than your budget look for a nice used 3380/3385/3390. You should be able to score a really good in the 120-150 range.
