I am back in a relationship with Maggie(s)

I sold my Maggie MMG's a few years ago because I "kind of" loved them but got frustrated with trying to make them work with outboard crossovers, different stands, different big amps, different placements, different subwoofers. Finally got tired of having to sit in one exact spot, with my head almost in a vise, to have them sound good.
I missed them. Kind of like a weird, high maintenance girlfriend that that was great when things were great, but fussy, tempermental, and exhausting to be with at all other times.
So I bought some used local MMG's Sunday and brought them home and hooked them up in my modest living room system: Eastern Electric Min/Max Pre Adcom GFA-535 II (supposed to be WAY too underpowered fro MMG's @60wpc) NAD CD with a Keces DAC and no-namo 12 ga.speaker wire.
The used MMG's appear to be stock except they have aftermarket vertical/raised stands.
WOW, just WOW ! Audio-boner.
Going through all my music again.
Why better this time?

Oh, wake up Maggie I think I've got something to say to you
It's late September and I really should be back at school...
They're not bad, them thar Magnepans/Magneplanars...
you want some trophy-spouse type of loudspeakers, in terms of the 'high maintenance' vibe? Get a pair of Quad ESL-57s (or a pair of "Heritage" Klipsch - e.g., the LaScalas). -

"Maggie" relationships are weird.
Some say they are better stood up straight vs. laid back.
Some like the fabric socks off, some prefer them left on.
Some say they are better after they loosen up a bit with age.
Some say they are actually better turned around backwards.
