How can one authenticate his MIT cables ?

I took the plunge and purchased a pair of the shotgun s1's from a guy on audiogon. Well after buying he had a few bad marks on his feedback. Now I think hmmm knowing my luck these might be fakes?

How can I tell apart from listening if they are infact the real deal?

    I thought there was fakes on ebay?? The seller is also Chinese and most of the fakes come from China or so I thought.

    I have to ask, if you think there are fake MIT's on ebay, from a Chinese seller, and he has bad marks on his feedback, then why would you buy them?

    How about you post a link to those cables. I look at the MIT listings daily and other than Joe Abrams's listings I don't recall seeing any Shotgun S1 speaker cables for sale.

    Well first for Tonys question, yes I like to flog some sheeyit on ebay to get my money back and taxes n paypal but its great when I get to add a little gravy ontop to make my next purchase go down better. Going through as much gear as possible is my objective and then when done I will settle down with the ones I love. Right now I have one of those joule preamps coming to make love to the Mcintosh 501.s when that gets taken care of.

    To answer your question F1, The MIT cables are still listed but if they sell I can buy another pair and put the rest into better MIT's. The reason I bought the shotguns S1 is to see if they sound better than the wireworld platinums as they are silver core rca's and the shotgun are not.

    I thought you were talking about speaker cables, sorry.

    Ok, there will be a serial number on each cable that should match the one on the box. You can call MIT to verify the serial number is valid.
