what is the purpose and/or advantage of using jumper cables on speakers, and can they be used on speakers with 2 binding posts? thanks.

Better connection = better sound to be used with speakers with more than one set of binding posts. Does make a quite noticeable difference.

The purpose is to replace those generic brass jumpers that came with the speakers that connect the top posts and the bottom posts. Better wire in place of those brass plates will offer up better signal transfer.

That said, you may or may not notice a difference, that depends on how revealing your system is. Usually better gear and speakers reveal the least bits of differences in cable changes.
