I am setting up 5.1 Home Theater setup
with

Onkyo TX-SR701
RTi8 -- L/R
CSI3
RTi4
psw202

I read some Home Theater set up material at polkaudio and at dolby http://www.dolby.com/ht/Guide.HomeTheater.0110.html

I tried several diffrent positions and i finally set up the surround Left Right facing each other about 3 feet high .They are just behind listner's ears, they are 2 1/2 feet away from the back wall.

Some people adviced me that the surround speakers should be placed in corner of the back wall for true 5.1 system.I called polk and they adviced me that surround speakers should face each other since RTi4 are front firing speakers.

Does any one come across similar situation...I get great surround sound but want to make sure that i am following correct procedures.

I belive that you answered your own question:D . So long as the sound is good to you and you are happy with it there is nothing more that needes to be done.

Congrats and welcome to the forum.
