Dang, just missed this. I test drove a Cadillac ATS 2.0T about 2 weeks ago. Liked the car a lot but ended up going with another choice. $100 in my pocket would have been nice though.

Thought I would just add this little comment in small text on that site:

** $100 TEST DRIVE PREPAID CARD OFFER AT PARTICIPATING DEALERS ONLY.

So if your going to just snatch up 100 bucks, better make sure they are a participating dealer first

Just did mine. Did not even do the test drive. Dealer has 96 left out of a hundred.

Too bad it's not for Ford f150's. Fargo has got to have lots of those!

The only thing I'd want from them is the Escalade, which is waaay overpriced for my budget. I guess I'll pass on the test drive.

    Give the dealer a thrill.

Test drive that absolutely horrible, Caddy version of the Chevy Volt.

I have not heard of anyone ever actually buying one.

Took the ATS out. 2.0 turbo. WOW. That thing moves.
Engine, very good, Back seat room and trunk room, not so good.
Fit and finish are nice. Way too many center console toys.
Either way, $100 next month. Not too shabby of a way to
spend 90 minutes. No pressure, got the guided tour.
    Very nice dealership.

I've got the ATS and love it, but I agree it can get cramped with 4 people in it. Other than that it's an awesome car and really fun to drive!

Exactly my thoughts as well. Great fun to drive but not all that practical with such a small backseat and trunk.

When My Mustang trunk and backseat have as much room as a Caddy, that's an issue!

    - US Luxury car sales were up about 10% last year
    - Up about 8% already this year, the Compact segment has been the most explosive in the past and possibly in the future.
    - Caddy sales up about 32% with the introduction of the ATS.
    - Cadillac's ATS sedan, named North American Car of the Year in January
    - The ATS can run with BMW on the road...some of the road tests state that it trumps the 3 series in steering and chassis.

The ATS is not a bad car....its just that the challenge is to convince a buyer that the ATS is as good and worth the price compared to a BMW.

It is anything but overweight. The ATS is pretty nimble and fast. But not cheap.
They were pleasant to deal with and low /no pressure. Most luxury brands are like that.
Toyota, however, never fails to make me pissed. You can be there 4 hours and still
not get the price on a car.

Oh yeah, agree with you there - Toyota is awful.

Regarding weight I guess my perspective is skewed since my car's curb weight is 2758 lbs.

There is no way you are talking about the ATS? Your car must not be in the compact luxury segment? The 6 cyl ATS fits right into the segment.

    Cadillac ATS 2.5L - 3315 lbs.

    BMW 328i - 3406 lbs
    Mercedes-Benz C250 - 3428 lbs
    Lexus IS250 - 3455 lbs
    Cadillac ATS 3.6L - 3461 lbs.
    Acura TSX - 3470 lbs
    Audi A4 - 3505 lbs
    Volvo S60 T5 - 3548 lbs
    Infiniti G25 - 3549 lbs
    Lexus IS250 - 3455 lbs

I just got the 2.0, I bought it the week it came out and they were still a few weeks out on the turbos. My CTS was the direct injection model and was definitely faster but it drives great and gets good mileage. Trim level we upgraded to the CUE system which is a must, but not the full blown premium package. My wife uses it as a DD to work which is only about 4 miles away so it gets the job done.

They spent about 45 minutes rambling on to me about CUE.
I showed the sales guy my phone (baseline, no internet, no camera)
and he seemed to be confused. I don't talk and drive- so let's just drive.
No wonder everybody seems to miss the light changes- too busy with
@#$%^ toys to pay attention. It's a car, just give me the keys.
pedal to go, pedal to stop. Big thingy to grab on to.
    DONE.

Yeah, your car is in the Affordable Sports Cars segment. What a cool whip for a young , single male. When I was in my 20's the hot hatch with five on the floor is all I drove. However, today there are many choices targeting young male...your Scion FR-S, Hyundai Tiburon, Nissan Juke, Mazda MX-5, Mini Cooper, Kia Soul, Ford Fiesta ST, Golf GTi, Dodge Dart, etc, etc...tons more...

Well, 30 and married, but hey close enough!

You should test drive one for fun if you get a chance. Even though you aren't seriously interested I bet you would still have fun on the drive! :)

I'm a car guy originally from Detroit and would not mind test driving anything fun out there. I sure do miss the test drive events that used to take place every year. I'm hot after the new Impala...maybe a nice used one in a a couple of years.
