Trade is it worth it

I have my Ortofon 2M Black for sale on Canuck and someone has their Audio Technica OC9/III for sale as well he has asked me for a straight trade..
His is like brand new mine has about 100 hrs give or take a few on it..
I'm into MC carts now so I was thinking its a good deal..

    Me personally I wouldn't make the trade. I have the AT33PTG which is the next step up from the OC9. You can get the 33 used for around 300 US while the cheapest I ever see the 2M Black go for is around 400. If he offered about 100 with it I might consider the trade, but I'll be honest the OC9 would not be my first choice for a lomc. What kind of sound are you looking for?

    When it comes to dealing with used equipment I am all game because it saves you good money, but there are 2 pieces of audio equipment you have to be careful with and that's carts and tubes as both a very sensitive.

    If your trading in a group of well known's or a community then I say it's worth the gamble but blind relations

    Not saying it is or not a good deal but google the crap and even talk to the guy..........just my .02

    Thanks guys for the advise I decided not to do the trade but to get cash instead and put it towards a good step up transformer and a good tube preamp..
    I did a Google the cart and it says it's a very good MC that's the only reason I was considering it.
    Since getting my new table and using a Cadenza Red my system has never sounded so good my vinyl has taken on a new life and my Paradigms have never sounded so good..
    I'm using a Clearaudio Nano pre and I'm very Happy with the sound it gives it sounds warn like even though it's not tube..
