I was going to connect my old Pioneer cd player direct to my Parasound amp but have decided to go with a pre instead. Partly due to probably dusting off my turntable in the near future and also realizing that the variable output in the set up menu of the Pioneer is not what I thought it was. Looking for actual experiences with the Adcom GFP-565 preamp. The reviews I have read are good and I think it's probably is in my price range.
Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub.

No remote may be a deal breaker, bummer. I did have my eye also on a Parasound, certainly looks like a nice pre but was hoping to save some coin to buy a new cartridge.

Try and find an Anthem pre2L
If you get lucky maybe you can find a basic model for around $500. and do some upgrades along the way.
You will not find a better deal.
