2002 Corvette, looking to upgrade audio system, need advice

I plan on upgrading to a dvd receiver in my 2002 corvette. Any suggestions.. I have been considering the Kenwood KVT-516...... unless there is something better out there. Has anyone else gone aftermarket and what do I need to know? I don't want to go to a pro installer and be suckered into buying a mediocre receiver.. Also I am told the Corvette Din is 1.5 but I am only seeing 2 Din...

    assuming you car is the coupe and not a convertible and assuming that its the non bose system you can only fit a 1.5DINN radio in there.

    there are some awesome single dinn decks out there.
