I miss the format and want to get back into it when I get the HT room set up again. Any advice here?

The video output is obsolete, not sure about the audio producing the 5.1+ solution via optical like we have grown a custom too.
But then there are those who still like the 8track and cassettes which there is nothing wrong with that. Format is nostalgic and if it weren't for size we would be probably still be using it.2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

As soon as I think about collecting physical media, I start to realize there's a lot to collect. IMO, physical media is mostly going away sooner than later. Streaming and media servers are the future... As much as I like to collect and have the physical copy, it's cumbersome and sort of outdated already. But if you can get discs at 1$-5$, might be worth it.2Ch Tube Audio Convert

If you like Pink Floyd's - Live At Pompeii, The **original** release of the Laserdisc is the ONLY way you can get the sound (and video) mastered at the correct speed. **ALL** other formats are mastered too fast.
There are also many many other releases that are still not (and potentially will never be) released on DVD or Blu-ray. IMO, the fact you can get these titles on a format that will not degrade is worth buying an LD player.
You can also get a Pioneed LD-S2 player (which is also a fantastic player) for a little less money.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
