Latest Snag - Polk Monitor 5b
Found these covered in dust today, $20. Drivers in outstanding condition - a few small rubs on the cabs, but so far they cleaned up real well.
Cheers,
Russ

Nice Doc, I agree, you gotta watch these effers.
Bruce - haven't spent more than a couple hrs with them so far. The tweeter is the SL2000 vs the original Peerless in my 7a's. No comparision in MY book. That being said though, they (sl2000's) don't seem AS sharp as I remember. Perhaps the thinner facia? Perhaps I just haven't listened to enough recordings?
I will still probably do the tweet swap in the not-so-distant future, but they sound pretty good so far - what can I say - they sound like vintage Polks! (which we all know is a GOOD thing). Not bad in the low-end dept either, but it's still too early to draw any conclusions - I just don't have a lot of time in with them yet.

You Thief!!
Nice speakers though. Mine do a really good job in the office! If you've never had them before, which I doubt since you stated you haven't had much time with them yet, they will grow on you. As long as you keep them within their capacities....:D
I think BANDIT would be a better user name for you!Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me -
Capacities? Whats that?
Right now they have moved to the outsides of the SRS 2's, toed in (if you've seen my cave), and I'm letting the 375wpc Carver have it's way with them. Well, about 5 watts of it anyway...
What a COOL speaker. Definate keepers. I think they will end up in the Master Bedroom, running off the whole-house rig.

Russ,
Good find, out of subject anyway, where did you get those pair of lions statue at your fire place? They look familiar to me as they can be found near pagoda from my country (Burma). -
