This is My 1st attempt at woodworking/building a piece of furniture.
I went thru a couple of different designs, but finally decided on the simple design, WAF approved also.
A lot of trips to Loewe's, multiple wood cuts, sanding, staining, nails, & screws .... led to the final product.
Opinions please... (hopefully not too critical).
Bottom line, I like it very much, was a rewarding & learning curve project. I made the length of the table perfectly suited for a "dream-future" 80-85 inch 21:9 theatre wide Plasma TV, if they ever make them. The solid wood and big metal casters should support up to 300-lbs. It's nice to be able to roll the table out & have easier access to the back wires/plugs. Should be plenty of room to add a 7.2 A/V receiver also.

Thanks,
I actually used 3 different stains( red mahogany, dark walnut, walnut), to give it a 2-3 tone color, instead of just 1 color. -
I think you have really great wood.

It's 76 inches wide, 22 inches deep, & 19 inches tall. For size reference, it's a 60" plasma on top.

Stain question...do you mix the stains or put one at a time on, let it dry and do the next one?Anaheim Hills CA,

One stain only for each different piece.
The red mahogany for the top & bottom planks, the dark walnut for the supporting side structures. -

Your rack looks good, perfect fit for the recess it lives in. From the looks of extra material you have cut up, I'd say there are more projects in the works! Have fun.

Nice work!

thanks all,
I enjoyed wood working more than I thought I would.
Might make my own center speaker stand next. -

Very nice: strong & functional! Manufactured furniture wouldn't typically be made out of thicket wood and wouldn't be able to support such a long span without deflecting/bending. It looks perfect for the space!Receiver: ONKYO TX-NR929 7.1 AVR 130wpc
