i started watching the middle of the 4th season with my new RTi12's.

any breaking bad fans here?

    Absolutely. I just finished the last two episodes on Netflix Monday night.

    I have never seen an episode, but am considering buying it on Blue Ray. I hear nothing but good things about this series, but still have a hard time with the idea a good show could be on basic cable.

    I think if you can get past the first 10 minutes of season 1 episode 1 its all good from there.

    The Best series on TV, too bad it's over..
    I recommended it to a few guys at work and they can't get enough..

    I was traveling quit a bit and the family was way into it. I tried to refuse getting sucked in, but caught a couple episodes then ran through the seasons like a crack head getting caught up

    if anybody know here how to download torrents using bittorrent, then you can download that for free on thepiratebay.se. find the torrent with 55.5gigs. it's all there from season 1 - 5. the files are all MKV with dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. learn more about torrents. remember, just like a home theater hobby, torrent downloading is a hobby too if you know what you are doing.

    back to breaking bad, i really loved that episode when hank confronted walt at his garage. that sick angry look on hank's face, then walt just played cool. his last words where "tread lightly". that's a great transformation right there. from a pushover to a real BAD ****!

    Best show I have ever seen/ followed hands down. For those who made it all the way through... try watching a few shows from the first season and then shows from season 5 and you will see the "evolution of the characters. Some of the episodes on this show "out do" a lot of movies IMHO. Trying not to say too much for those who want to watch it.

    breaking bad reminds me on the scarface movie. they're both great but breaking bad is much more modern and realistic i guess.

    Breaking Bad, in my opinion, is the best TV show I have ever seen. It is the only show I can think of that starts good, gets better throughout, and ends with the last season being the absolute best. Most shows fizzle, get old, or run out of places to go. I think, from start to finish, it's a (close to) perfect show.

    and i thought nothing beats spartacus on tv shows. i was wrong! the walking dead is good too but gets boring sometimes. the zombies keeps going on and on and on.........

    Just watched season 3 for the fourth time,,,damn Walt shows his colors when he takes out the two thugs who killed Combo...splat with the Aztec, and then finished off the punk with a little lead to the head, finishing the episode with one word...."run"

    That would be "full measure"

    Yea, it is the best show on TV right now, no doubt

    I have been on layoff for a couple of weeks, and have been watching the entire series of both Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos... both shows driven by the actions of a central anti-hero. And I gotta say, Walt is as about as far away from the ultimate badass as a guy could get, in my opinion. Or at least, a badass I can believe in... been pretty much disliking him since season 3, and I am 4 episodes from the end. Mike and Jesse are far more human, which is something I prefer in a badass... not a self-centered, egotistical empire builder like Walt.
    That aside... who would have thought TV would be better writing than most movies coming out of Hollywood?

    I read most of this thread with one eye closed cuz I'm only on Season 4, E2. Don't want any spoilers.

    To echo the above sentiments, I also believe it is the best progressive drama that was ever made. This show gets everything right: writers that understand how to keep a story grounded without unbelievable scenarios, effective and creative use of soundtrack, effective and creative use of foreshadowing, well conceived storylines that compel viewers to tune in next week instead of relying on gimmicky cliff-hangers, and actors who portray the situation they're in with truth and honesty like it would be in real life. There's so much good about this show that books can be written about it (and there probably are). I would go out on a limb here and say that Breaking Bad is the perfect television show, one which upcoming young writers, directors and actors should study incessantly to understand how a good show is made. So good, in fact, that my wife and I have problems watching one of our prior "favorite" shows, "The Blacklist." Even "The Walking Dead" is outdone, and in spades. Everything my wife and I now watch is compared to Breaking Bad. If you haven't see it yet, give it a chance. I have not heard of one single instance where someone started watching this show based on a recommendation did not get hooked and watch it all the way through. Seriously. Believe the hype.

    I wish you were a local friend and I could just loan you the dvds to see if you like the first season enough to continue.
    I'll be honest, I bought the first three seasons 3 years ago, and tried multiple times to watch, and could never really catch on. Then, something lately changed, and I watched the first 5 seasons in less than 2 weeks. It builds and gets better the farther you go... getting to know characters. Writing and story lines solidify... and typical with how wiseguys end up being portrayed, it's hard not to like most of the guys and feel bad for them when things go wrong.
    And to me, being that they are Jersey mob, it's like Goodfellas meets blue collar. I don't feel that it has the constant tension of Breaking Bad, but it has plenty of great episodes and a stellar cast.

    Yes it was IMO the Best Series in at least the last ten years or so..
    Actually I can't remember a series I enjoyed more than Breaking Bad..ever
    The cast were absolutely perfect for their roles...

    Agreed with the consensus here. This show was a game changer for me. Don't know if I"ll ever see anything better in my life time. I can only hold Arrested Development near it, and that was obviously a very different show with a very different angle.
