Help identifying these Polks

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me identify these speakers. There are no stickers or labels anywhere on them. They have 2 x mid basses and a tweeter. The mid basses are labelled RD0515 - 1/2. The tweeters have the number 890524 on them.

I bought these recently and didn't really test them. Turns out the tweeters were blown in both speakers, so I'll have to find a replacement.

Based on the build quality, I'm going to assume they're a Monitor series.

Thanks

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. R50 possibly.

I think they are the R40. The R50 has a different grill which has a gap for the port, whereas my ones don't - the grills cover the port. I should've taken a photo of the grill too.

I'll call Polk on Monday and ask about replacement tweeters.

    Thanks for your help

    Not worth the investment.

Agreed. Tweeters will probably cost $100. IIRC these speakers were sold at close out around that much...

OK. It looks like I bought lemon.
So if it's not worth getting new tweeters. What should I do? Sell them as is? Sell them off as parts? Or are they simply just not worth anything and I should just dump them and take the loss as a stupidity tax?

They are not in good shape, not great speakers, so unless you got them close to being free, not really worth the investment
