These are the original model:

Minty pair and seems to be a pretty good price.

Anybody have any experience with these?

Way too high price for them. That price is for cornwalls in good shape.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

Hate to disagree with Mystery as he moves a lot of stuff in and out, but that isn't a bad price for one of Klipsch's best speakers (other being a KG-4) in terms of being able to sit down and listen to them for an extended period of time. The Chorus's are one of those speakers that I wish I had back. These look to be vary clean and have tight cormers.

I concur with Dave. That is a good price for those speakers.

Agreed; that price isn't out of line. I paid $700 for mine several years back and got the same back for them when the time came. A pair of Polk 2.3s is what sent them packing. I am not a horn guy and have no desire to own another pair.

+1 on the Kg 4's i had some & liked them better than the Heresy's. The price of op 650 is fair & they look well kept. My friend Steve is a Klipsch guy & he really loves them. On long periods of listening the horns dont agree with my ears

I always thought the Chorus Version 2 may be better than this version due to the passive radiator and different woofer. I need to hit the Klipsch forum to see what folks have to say about the differences and the most desired model.

I guess that's why they have different speakers, for different tastes! I had a pair of Chorus II's and couldn't get rid of them quickly enough. I'm not a fan of the shrill horns and I didn't think they dropped low enough at the bottom end.

I agree they are great sounding speakers as long as horns don't bother.
Around this part of the country, Chorus show up for around $3-$500 quite often.
Even Cornwalls that demand higher, show up for less than $600 up to $1000 but the latter price sits there for whole year and I've passed on two pairs at $400.
So $600 for chorus will not sell here unless if it's in great peppermint  condition and the right buyer is in the area.
Denver does not bring that high on Klipsch speakers.
I've seen Forte II's for $250, La Scala for $600 (no sale for a month), Cornerhorns for $900 where they bring close to twice or more the price in other cities.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

I had a pair of Forte II's for about 2 hours...I loved the build quality, loved the bass response but horns are too harsh for me...

The Chorus is, IMO, a far better loudspeaker than the Cornwall. No idea what the former is worth today, though. I lived with a pair of Cornwalls for a decade; I know whereof I speak.

There's a pair of KG4's with Crites upgrade around here for $225. Seems like a decent deal.

I love my klipsch's but music sucks with horns to my ears but with that said I have a pair avantgarde duo on my list of speakers to try before I die.

I miss them more than any other speakers I have ever let go. To each his own...

The seller lowered the price to $600. I am very inclined to pick them up and at least give them a try. If I did not like them I could always sell them for around the same price. They may sound good with the tubes I have in place.

However I can't see them beating out my SDA SRS2.3TL for overall sound.

I like vintage Klipsch but I don't think they come even close to being anywhere near your 2.3TLs. That's just my ears and you may differ, which is fine, but the polks are so much better in just about every way IMO.

Don't get me wrong, the Klipsch sound great, but the Polks just sound a lot better to me. Smoother, better mids and much better bass. That could be due to my choice of music so if the Klipsch work for you, rock on and enjoy them!

I agree. However I thought about putting the Klipsch in my H/T rig to replace my SDA-2B's (pass them on to another polkie). At the end of day, it would probably be a lateral move for H/T so I think i will pass.

Yes, for HT, that would not be a bad move. I would personally keep the SDA-2B's in that spot as they still sound great for movies, others may like the Klipsch better tho.

Crites crossovers are nice, but over priced for the parts you are paying for.

I'm a full believer that two-way horns crossed low are the way to go; i.e. the Altec above or big JBLs.

Funny, me too :-) Not too low, though... heck, the Altec Duplex's 15" driver (which is sort of a 515, but not exactly, as I understand it) is one of the best sounding midrange drivers on the planet IMO ;-)

I'll defer comments on the Crites bandwagon and the huge cadre of folks who fix what's wrong with Klipsch's "heritage" loudspeakers... although in full and complete disclosure, I (like many folks) use aftermarket XOs (Doug Sax's Mastering Labs, in my case) for my Altecs.

They probably do (and I say that as someone who's not, generally speaking, a big JBL fan).

    EDIT:
Forgive my ignorance (I'm just not a JBL guy)... but is that a real JBL woofer or a TAD woofer? I know that the Pioneer/TAD drivers resemble JBLs (imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, after all)... but that woofer looks an awful lot like the Pioneer (proto-TAD) woofers in my HPM-1100s...
