From my copy of "Living in the past" my mom let me buy in my early teen years, and i would listen to on my western auto stereo.

Cleaned on my spin clean,"God bless dawg", and played thru the jolida jd9,"God bless Dawg", a lyric just leapt out at me, more than any other line,"We will meet in the sweet light of dawn".

LIFE IS A LOVE SONG people, sing it as loud as you can.

Later in the day, a reminder that even an old one legged, one hit rock guitar god can tell you,"Keep it simple stupid".

The best, most visceral songs are usually the simplest.

This one helped me reflect on the loss of my grandmother. I still shed a tear almost every time I here it. Beautiful.

You might want to try this one, too...

The Wailin Jennys' version of a beautiful song by Jane Siberry called Calling All Angels... this one almost always moves me to tears when I hear it.

...Oh, and every day you gaze upon the sunset
    With such love and intensity
Why, it's almost as if you could only crack the code
Then you'd finally understand what this all means

Oh, but if you could, do you think you would
Trade it all, all the pain and suffering?
Oh, but then you'd miss the beauty of
The light upon this earth and the sweetness of the leaving

Calling all Angels, calling all Angels
Walk me through this one, don't leave me alone
Calling all Angels, calling all Angels
We're trying, we're hoping, but we're not sure how it goes

Maybe this one too; the Jennys' cover of Mike Scott's Bring 'em All In. Daniel Levitin, in his book The World in Six Songs, describes it as "among the most perfect love songs ever written" http://daniellevitin.com/publicpage/books/the-world-in-six-songs/

I went to probate debs will yesterday, and there i sat, along with the clerk, who saw me fall apart, and shared with me her brothers story, him dying at 31 of lung cancer.

Judge kiker came out, saw us fellowshipping, and shared his little brothers story, he died at 13, after a brave fight with cancer, and his mothers conversation with one of the nurses, who happened to be Omar Sharifs sister.

The mother asked, "How can you do this every day, with these terminally ill children, and go on in life?"

She said, just be silent for a little while, and you can almost hear the angels all around.

These kids give me inspiration, the dignity, courage, and fellowship they have with each other.

We all had a real good cry, at which point i took the oath, left debs last will and testament, and left with the Letters testamentary.

those are the papers allowing you to sum up the earthly affairs of the one you held so dear.

I need to hear some angels soon.
