I'm seeking some advice as to the fair value for a pair of SDA-2B.

What is the value range for a pair with the interconnect cable?

Do the versions with the wood caps go for a little more?

I sold both studio and standard pairs for $225 each pair so I don't think wood caps (standard) ones go for any more.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

Yeah, i dont think it makes much of a difference. I paid 220 for my studios. After mods i had about 550.00 in em. Adds up quick

I guess it depends on the part of the country where you live. SDA 2Bs rarely show up around here and when they do they are $300 or more. I gave $300 and have never regretted it.

I have stock 2B studios and they sound great. $300 is very fair IMHO

I have two pairs to choose from:

Pair of early SDA-2B with cable; the seller wants $400 for the pair

Pair of later SDA-2B with the wood cap and cable; the seller wants $350

The prices are a little negotiable ...
Which pair would be the most bang for the buck investment.

I have a pair of Monitor 7s and this will be my first foray into SDA land.

Thanks for all the input thus far... greatly appreciated.

Sound should be about the same for either one.
To me the wood caps with black sides are more desirable. Some may prefer the simulated wood grain vinyl.
Depending on the year the newer ones may be easier to upgrade the crossovers.
Pin/Blade interconnect cable is newer and more desirable than Blade/Blade design.
$50 in your pocket is $50 you can spend on upgrades.
Excellent condition might be worth $50 more.

^^ +1 Those are good prices for local sales. I wouldnt hesitate to pay 400 for mint 2b's with cord & in ready to listen to condition. Good luck on your search

I feel pretty good about scoring a pair with wood caps last weekend for $100.. I'll TL them like my CRS+'s.

But, I agree $250 for a pair in fair condition is common. But, let's be real. Why not spend a bit more for a pair in good to great condition? Give up the Starbucks for a couple days and get the good ones.

Finally, the vinyl clad studios are butt ugly...get the living room-presentable verion with wood caps. Obviously just my opinion.

Wood caps and pin blade $300 is a fine deal.
Never been to Starbucks heard a cup of coffee is $5.00?
