This was posted over on the Steve Hoffman forum where Norm was a member
http://clarkscarlet.tumblr.com/post/76567320803/in-memoriam-norm-apter
And Norm was a member here as well.
I had the pleasure of meeting Norm at a local San Diego get together hosted by CP member Doug Powell.
Great guy - I liked him a lot. And we had a good time.
I am so sad to hear this.
I'm going to raise a glass to Norm and remember the time we shared and enjoyed this hobby of ours.

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

I am very sad to hear this. Although I never met Norm in person, we communicated fairly often before he finally got this last job as we share some common research interests. I also, offered some advice on job applications and what to expect on various interviews he faced and was only too happy to hear that he had landed a tenure track job. So I assumed he was just busy teaching and concentrating on his research. If I'm not mistaken he was quite a bit younger than yours truly. A great guy, a good scholar, a concerned teacher. He will be missed. This is just awful news, March continues February in the worst way!
My deepest condolences to his family.

So very sorry to hear this. I did not really interact with Norm, but remember reading his posts many times. He will be missed. R.I.P Norm.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
