Ok I have two questions..1st. Anyone know where I can get original SDA grill cloth for my 1Cs. .and 2nd..i love my SDAs as most of you do, so I ask you ..Is it Taboo to want to build a new set of cabinets ( same layout/dimensions/ drivers/xover. ..I feel like it would be blasphemous in some way. I've been building custom home and competition car audio cabinets for many years with great success but still I feel guilty even asking ..:)..thoughts??
Read thspecs,

read the reviews, do the research but most importantly...Listen and make your own decisions.

Why not built your own cabinets? Polk would be more than happy to sell you the drivers. Who knows you could take the SDA to the next level.

I'd love to give it a shot , but would dislike the negative thoughts from my peers. Maybe a new take on the original design would be better ,for the sake of research ,trial and error , what ever one would call it. I was just looking for respected opinions from all of you Polk Gurus..

I think part of the fun is experimenting. Where I draw the line with experimenting is making changes that can't be reversed. That line varies from one person to the other. Some people are purest and don't want to touch anything unless it is broke. Then you have people that think upgrades to the electronics and certain modifications, (TL for example), are OK but frown on you if you swap parts from one cabinet to another. I have a cabinet design for 2B components that I would try if I had the skills to pull it off... but I don't have the skills or the tools that would be needed. The bottom line is they are your speakers. Experiment with them if that is what makes you happy and don't worry about what other people are going to say. Have fun!!
