I'm in the market for a new AVR. I do have separate amplification for a 5.1 setup. The anthem caught my eye primarily because of their ARC system. Anyone have any experience with this receiver.
The receiver will be used 90% HT.
Thanks

Not that receiver but i do own an Anthem MRX300. I am extremely happy with it. I bought the USB/Serial dongle but have yet to set up ARC due to time restraints. It drives my bookshelf HT to extreme levels at about 1/2 way up the dial. Clearer than my Onkyo's (606 & 807) in the same environment.
What are you planning on driving with it?Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
I have some Anthem gear FS d2V, D2, mrx 300. mca 5series 2and a lovely integra 80.2. Makes me wish I had 4 rooms for them all.

Yeah I hear a lot of good things about them. I'm about 90% that I'll be going with that receiver. I don't need the extra power of the MRX 710 as I'm using separates. As far I understand the only deference between the 510 and 710 is the power rating.

I'm currently using its older brother the MRX-500 and am totally happy with it. Phenomenal sound quality and one of the best room correction system I've used. I've tried MCACC (Pioneer Elite SC), Trinnov (Sherwood Newcastle R972) and the older MultEQ XT... I feel the ARC is more accurate than all of them. I feel it's comparable to MultEQ XT32 in its accuracy and ability in creating a truly enveloping and cohesive surround sound. I understand that the new 510 has an improved version of ARC.
It also sounds much more powerful and robust than its conservative power rating suggests. -

Yeah, its got a bit higher cutoff for the high end, and it doesn't require a serial the USB adapter as it terminates in a straight USB plug. I have these AVR's on my short list to replace my Integra DTR 5.9."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." MRX300/310s are on my short list if/when I upgrade the AVR for sure. Great gear without a doubt.Display: LG 47" LCD | AVR: Marantz SR5005 | BD: Panasonic BDT-210 | CD/SACD: Oppo 980 |
