Well picked it up this morning I must say packed extremely well, the crate weighs 50kg we had to take the top off and remove a few trays to be able to fit it in my back seat..
I have put the belt on setup the cart using the included setup gauge, it sits on 4 magnetically opposing feet and the plater is very heavy and feels very dense and sits on a magnet support to ease the belt pull torque and weighs 10kg the whole table once set up is finished weighs 50lbs.
I put on Daft Punk Random Access Memories and right away I knew what I was missing before..
Very open sound stage, Great detail over all, much better than my 2M Black, bright but not the kind of brightness that is unwanted..
I am very Happy as I know it will only get better with more play..
Will include better pic once I upload to photobucket..ATC SCM40's,VTL TL 2.5 Preamp,PSB Stratus Goldi's,McCormack DNA 500,McCormack MAP-1 Preamp,Pro-Ject Xtension 10 TT,Ortofon Cadenza Red/Nordost RedDawn LS Speaker cables, Bryston BDP-2, Bryston BDA-2,PS Audio AC-3 power cables -

Congrats on the new table! Like most Pro-ject it seems like a lot of bang for the buck! I know Fremer seemed to be pretty impressed with it.HT

Nice piece of hardware; what cartridge are you using with it?

Confession: It's mostly "fer lookin' at" at this point. I bought it as a box of parts and re-assembled it.
I am still having some problems with the wiring in the tonearm.
It came with a Stanton 681EEE and a Stanton 881EEE.
I really use my Thorens TD-160 for listening. I bought it new about 38 years ago and never let it go, even when LP's were declared "dead".Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. I understand; a few shelf queens at my house, too :-(
That arm, and table, though are capable of quite good performance; I do hope you get it operating properly anon.
The TD-160, of course, is a classic. I wish I could've afforded one 'way back when... I went Philips, which at the time and for the $ was considered (at least around Baltimore) as "the next best thing". -

I really couldn't "afford" a Thorens turntable either, but Highland Appliance was brooming out their higher end stuff and I bought it for $124. That works out to $3.65/year. It replaced a Pioneer PL-10.
My older brother went back and bought the last one the next day. He also still uses his to this day.
My buddy had a Philips 212. It was cool and sounded great too.Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player -
The PL-10 (or at least the next model up, the PL-12) was decent entry-level, too.
I found a PL-12 some years back, put a Shure M97xe on it, and it served my daughter well through college and now spins the occasional disk at her and her husband's house.

I want one of those again even if just for old times sake.
When I bought my PL-10 in high school it was a big jump up from the typical BSR or Garrards.
No one could figure out why I would want a turntable that you couldn't just plop a stack of LP records on, or one that you had to manually move the tonearm to and from the record and raise and lower using a cueing control.

I'll tell you what, the arm on the PL-12D (which I assume is identical to that on the PL-10) ain't half bad. If nothing else, it is quite nicely built and finished.
The nice thing about tts like these; they are so simple and straightforward, absent motor failure, bearing wear or a sledgehammer, there's not much to go wrong with 'em. -

What a score! That's a beautiful Kenwood turntable. Some Meguiar's PlastX plastic cleaner and polish, available at any auto supply store, will restore that dustcover to its original clarity. I've used PlastX to remove swirl marks and haze from my dustcover. Thanks for the heads up on that. I don't have any experience with HK tables, but I know a few people that really like that DV cart. I am running a Thorens TD320 with an upgraded suspension and a Denon DL110 cart. The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits. -Albert Einstein

From What I can gather the high end HK's are not common....I wanted a Denon but most think those are worth thier weight in gold and I could not swing what most wanted...I got this at a decent deal. The local record shop guy traded my debut plus some $$$....I am real happy thus far. -

Love this table!!! -
That line of hk turntables is quite nice. They're not terribly common and they have a very good reputation... so they are not inexpensive on the used market.
