Practice is one thing, last year teams were doing 2 second changes, but the fastest in an actual race was 2.4 seconds by McLaren, IIRC.

When I read the title, I thought F1nut got a flat tire.

The dude standing in front of the car with the car jack has big brass balls. I'm not sure I could stand in the path of a car going from a billion mph to zero right in front of me.

So how many Italians does it take to change 4 tires?

Considering that an F1 car can go from 100 to 0 in just over 2 seconds, there's not much to worry about.

They could reply with, "You don't have $75,000.00 lug nuts or the wallet to train and have a crew on hand to do it that fast".

    Or not.

However, you could probably convince one of them to stand in the middle of the garage as you drive in as fast you can.

Pit stops are insanely quick since they no longer refuel. However tire changes back in the pre pit speed limit days were more entertaining.

Yes, lots of new regs this year. The worst is going with turbo V6 power plants. I miss the V10/V12 days, the sound was like nothing else you've ever heard.

The new season starts March 16th, broadcast on NBC Sports.

I guess this means every race is limited to a relatively short distance/duration since I doubt if they get great gas mileage.

Same race distances, they will have to manage fuel mileage with amount of turbo boost and via electroinic engine management and the drivers right foot. In the old Turbo era of the 1980's it became a fuel economy run for the top cars that opted for turbos.

Gawd, the 1300HP days in a 1400 pound missile. Sick! IIRC they dumbed it down for the race, the big numbers were for qualifying.
