As I told you guys yesterday I picked up the Realistic SA-150 integrated amp. I plugged in the cdp and it works great. Then I thought why waste the Sony. Only the speaker outs are n/g and I got a loop antenna used audio out and viola I have an AM tuner. Problem is I have the wrong kind of 75 ohm adapters for FM. The rear of the Sony only has these snap close antenna connectors and not the F-connector type. Where can I get the kind of FM antenna or 75 ohm adapter to make this work. Why sh%t can the Sony only for an adaptor. These are what I have and will not work.

What are you saying? That the antenna on the Sony consists of two lead inputs (300 ohm)? Because if that's the case just go to your Ratshack and buy a Dipole FM antenna.

Or you can use something like this:

That wont do it. I need something w/ just wire leads, no spades, no coax, and for the life of me I can't find what I used before but it wasn't anything like that or the f-connector types like the ones I have already. Looking at the back of the Sony it does say 300/75ohm. So may be Radio Shackdom is the place to go.

I'm an idiot, Nbrowser you were right. The 'thing ' I used before was just a looped wire stretched out to about 5'.You know how I know this because I looked it up,and got a pdf of the users manual which I never had. All that talk about the 75 ohm adapter applied to people w/ outside antennas or the UK version. So all is well w/ the world once again along as we don't get hammered by this next storm to much. So my bedroom system is now a Realistic SA-150 integrated amp, Sony STR-150 (used just for radio), Panasonic RV-32 cdp, and JBL J2060 bookenders, Insignia 22'' tv. Wow what a system not worthy for my sig.but it works.

As crazy as this sounds, grab some elcheapo lamp cord speaker wire, connect one end in a loop, fire the other end into the antenna connectors, should work...6 feet total length, it's what I use on my 3490 cause it works better than the loop that came with it. 16 gauge works decently.

I've always used this method on old gear. Old speaker wire works just as good if not better than those crappy am antennas that came with the gear.

I know I keep over thinking the stupidest things. I still have mellow out a bit. McGyver was cool but the dudes Artemus Gordon and James West in the Wid Wild West were so much more inventive for their time. Hey were talkin Civil War era.
