Passed early today. Brilliant mind behind great comedies including Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Animal House, etc. Very sad, some of my favorite movies...

    Sad news and an odd auto-immune disease? I suspect we're going to see more of these "unusual" symptoms/diseases and early deaths as our cohort slides into their 60s and beyond.

    Can't believe this news! I never thought of him as old, or being ill.

    A few classics HR had a hand in: directed "Caddyshack," "National Lampoon's Vacation" and "Groundhog Day," co-writer of "National Lampoon's Animal House" and co-star of "Stripes" and "Ghostbusters" . He also was involved with “Analyze This” (1999), which he directed and wrote with Peter Tolan and Kenneth Lonergan. Probably a few I missed.

    I really wanted to see Ghostbusters 3 come out but without him I hope they don't bother with it now. It wouldn't be right without him. RIP
