I'm looking at the following Headphone amps for my new Sennheiser 598's, Have listened to these through my Oppo 105D, and currently through my Marantz 5004. I'm considering the JD labs CMOYBB V2.03 for on the go for Ipod or Iphone, and the Objective2 + ODAC for the Computer Rig thoughts anyone thanks to Endershadow for the suggestions.

    I like the way your cans look on the new headphone stand :) I just have the straight ones and yours looks a lot better!

    as for the 2 Headphone amps choices I like the HiFiMAN EF2A if you don't already have a dac for playing your computer's music thru. I use JRiver media center to play all my Flac's and high res files with but there is a ton of stuff that program can do.

    Just saw this... here are my thoughts....

    Stay away from hifiman stuff... wont go into specific's but just dont. I owned a Objective 2 for a short while. I had to have it fixed by a forum member here as I bought it built by a person (not JDSLabs). That forum member said he wasnt a huge fan of the PCB as it was pretty cheap and the overall build quality could be better.

    I have not owned the CCmoy, but the folks that have love it. Its not as transportable as their C5, but its also MUCH cheaper and a good starting point IMHO. If you wanted to spend the cash on the JDSLabs C5 it might be worth it, but I havent been in the market for a headphone amp for a long time.

    If you get the CMoy make sure to tell them what cans you are using so they can customize the spec's for it.

    The C5 looks like an option over the CCmoy and a better one at that.

    The C5 is a gen 2 of that concept... you might be able to find whatever model was before the C5 for a decent price used.

    If you are looking at headphone amps, do so at headfi.org. Thats kinda their specialty, headphones lol.....

    I spent days reading reviews and talked to the guy at Jd labs my choice for the portable amp will be the C5 no dac my source will be an I pod touch and a Sony Walkman cd player. I will hold of the desktop amp for now and just use the Oppo 105's headphone section I used it again last night way better than the Marantz 5004 thanks for helping choose my C5
