HELP! Quick easy question about rear surround speakers...I hope

New here and just have one hopefully easy question...I set up a new system with a 5.1 receiver, center channel speaker, 2 fronts, and sub. I ordered 1 rear surround speaker, because of the layout of my room I can't get 2 rear surrounds, and I am wondering how to hook it up to the receiver. The receiver has speaker hookups for rear left surround and rear right surround but since I only have 1 rear surround speaker I am wondering how I should hook it up. My initial thought was to run 2 wires to the speaker and hook 1 wire up to the left hookup and 1 to the right. Not sure if I should do this or just hook the speaker up to either one and which one if it matters. For what its worth, the rear speaker is almost directly behind the tv viewer...basically right inline with the center channel speaker....like a rear center channel I guess. Thanks in advance!!

Polk sold and I'm not sure if they still do, a single wireless surround speaker unit that puts out both left and right channel info. What you are looking to do isn't going to work.Political Correctness'.........defined

Ok so I guess this 1 rear surround speaker idea sounds like it won't work...then should I move the 1 surround to a typical placement for a rear right surround in a 5.1 setup, about 90 degrees from normal viewing, and turn the rear left output in the receiver off or return the 1 surround speaker and go with a 3.1?? setup?

Get the wireless surround unit. If Polk doesn't sell it anymore, I'm sure someone else does.Political Correctness'.........defined
