I bought this to get rid of a ground loop caused by my TV, but I fixed the problem a different way, so I never actually installed this converter. It takes the digital 5.1 signal out of your player, and converts it to stereo analog audio for use with a stereo receiver or similar system without HDMI.
Comes with everything unused in the box including the decoder itself, power supply, and warranty card.

I watched Quantum of Solace with this last night and A/B'ed back and for between it and the stereo analog outputs on my BDP. The FiiO D07k was a little more dynamic and offered a little wider sound-stage; a nice little piece of equipment!

This is a great device to add analog stereo output to a TV/Blu-ray player that doesn't have it, or improve the analog stereo down-mix for movie playback!

Any interest in this? Lower the price or shelve it all together? It's a neat little, brand-new unit that I just don't have a need for...

I always find it funny that companies go thru the trouble of creating an English version of their literature, but don't actually bother to try and use proper and intelligible English. I mean seriously, are you telling me that NOBODY in these companies has a decent command of the English language.
I work in an environment where it's not important, and yet I can walk less than 100 feet from my desk and find people that speak the top 10 or 15 languages in the world fluently.
GLWTS, looks like a neat little device. -
There are so many cruel DACs out there. I for one would prefer one that showed its humane side.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

It is a cool little decoder, but I assumed the Engrish sold itself!

Hate to bump an OLD FS thread, but may have interest in it. Do you know if this will do the same for a 7.1 stream (i.e. downconvert it to stereo)?
I didnt rip the stereo layer of all the movies and blu-rays I converted and want to be able to take our WD live TV w us in the car and on vacation, and watch the movies.... so I need stereo..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."
