Driving the lsim707 speakers
I have an Onkyo TX-NR5010 receiver. I want to buy a pair of LSIM707's but I hear they are hard to drive. Does anybody know if this receiver will drive these. I have monitor 70's now and it does a good job with these. If not what do you recommend for an amp. I think the 5010 has 280 watts per channel.

First rule of thumb, there is always something better. Second rule of thumb, be careful with power ratings. I am sure this AVR will work fine, assuming you aren't in a cathedral size room. It's actual rating is 145/W per channel at 8 ohms with two channels driven, which is respectable.

Large 4-ways like the 707's seem be the the reason amp companies make 200-300 watt per channel amps. Seems like the right combo. However, your AVR is such a brute, it measures well:Sound and Vision wrote:http://www.soundandvision.com/content/onkyo-tx-nr3010-av-receiver
