Okay - it's been a while since I have seen a poll on this forum. So, I thought I would give it a shot.

What did you think of U2's performance on Jimmy Fallon last night?

Didn't know they were on and wouldn't have watched them if I did.

I thought the song they did atop the tower with the sunset over the NY skyline was pretty cool.

They had a marching band drum section (someone speculated Rutgers?) playing along as well - perfectly timed.

I am not a U2 fan either - but the song was pretty good and had some energy to it.

    I gave it a nod.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

+1 you perfectly described my feelings.

I have four U2 CDs, three from the 80's and Rattle and Hum. Something happened in the early 90's, they completely changed their sound. As if they changed from rock to pop. Love their 80's stuff. I blame the guitar player's hat-thing that he is never without. He never wore that dumb thing in the 80's. So is his first name THE, and his last name EDGE?

Agree with many others here, might have been a U2 fan back 20 years ago, but since then I grew up and no longer listen to their music. Letterman and now Fallon are just mouthpieces for the DNC , screw 'em.

I personally thought they went downhill after Boy and October.

They just showed U2 in the audience at the Oscars and the guitar player wore that dumb hat...TO THE OSCARS! When I was a kid, we used to wear hats like that to keep our heads warm when we went sledding in the snow. We did NOT wear them year round or with a suit.

Have to disagree with those who think the stupid hat was the downfall of U2. Must have seen them 10 times "back on the day".

The album which in my personal opinion was "The Joshua Tree". Bought that piece of crap, played it once, and nailed it with 5 ought buck shot, just simply wasn't worth 00 ought. That was also when Bono decided that his signature look would be those idiotic rap-around sunglasses. It was the sunglasses, not the stupid hat, that killed that band.

    LOL

You mean you didn't like the song "With or Without Brew"?

And yes, Bono was wearing sunglasses indoors tonight!

U2 maybe 10-15 years ago like others have said. Fallon....will be gone inside a year. The dude simply isn't funny and can't deliver a joke to save his life.

I assume he is bald, and doesn't want anyone to see him. Just like the Beach Boy who always has a baseball cap on his head.

I enjoyed it personally. Regardless of whether you like U2 or not... they seem to be everywhere and never go away. Talk shows, on a roof somewhere, the oscars, etc.
