Just got even better. The Russian women's team is stacked with hotties!!!!
It's on right now. They may even look better noticing the Nordic Vikings they are up against.

That is all...
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

    And, they lost!

    The Vikings won the day.

By the way, does anybody understand curling?

You're speaking of Russia's curling skip, Anna Sidorova. Not to be confused with our own Club Polk DSkip. See what I did there?

It would be worth it just to watch them try to walk on the ice in high heels!

Near as I can tell, it's shuffleboard on an ice rink...with big rocks and some little brooms. I'm pretty sure the frantic sweeping in the rocks' pathway is just a ploy to make it look way complicated and everything. That way they can keep the schlubbs, at home that are thinking that if they can just pry their asses off the couch they can become Olympic athletes, out of their way. I know that's what kept me from giving the 2014 games a shot.

2018?..........Maybe, just maybe! After all, I was the champion shuffleboarder at a Minnesota lake resort one week several years back. Aaaannnnndd, I've been handling a broom like a champ since I was a wee lad. Now.........just gotta find my arse-pry-from-couch tool and I'm half way there!

I first saw curling eight years ago during the Olympics. I had never even heard of it before. I thought it looked ridiculous, sort of like bowling on ice. Then they had a twenty minute segment where they explained the rules of the game and I realized it was more like billiards on ice and that there is a lot of strategy involved. You want to be closest to the button (center), but you have to figure out a way to do it so the other team can't knock you out and score.

Then there are the brooms...the brooms can be used to clean the ice so the stone doesn't pick (slow down from small ice debris which can alter it's direction and distance). Then if the stone isn't thrown hard enough, the brooms can be used to melt the top layer of ice in front of the stone to make it go further (that's when they frantically broom the ice as hard as they can). I think it would be more popular if the winners got to flog the losers with the brooms at the conclusion of each end (ten ends to a game).

Curling is nothing new and big up here. Lots of curling clubs where I live. I haven't really played other than goofing around but trust me it is a lot more difficult than it looks.

The ice is quite different and more difficult to achieve than hockey ice. The ice is softer and has a pebble on it for the rocks to grab so that they can be controlled.

I remember when I was a kid I used to go to the curling clubs every sunday because my dad curled...35 yrs ago.

I'm obviously in the minority here. I quite enjoy watching Olympic Curling.

I heard the curling centers are kept much colder than a hockey rink. Also heard it's a much tougher sport physically than it appears. Watch the person who sends the stone down ice. When they push off, they're sliding on the one foot with the back foot raised up...while balancing on ice. The sweepers frantically sweep the ice while sliding sideways down the ice while trying to avoid other stones.

Anyways, I do enjoy watching it when the Olympics come around. I especially like watching the Russian ladies! The US ladies are horrible! Two straight matches they forfeited in the 7th round due to getting their backsides handed to them.
    No excuses!

"HARD! HARD! HARD! WHOA! YUP! YUP! RIGHT OFF! HARD! RIGHT UP! WHOA!"

That was nbrowser shouting directions to the delivery driver as he drives on the wintery icy roads trying to deliver nbrowser's Parasound amp to the button known as my residence. YUP! That's gold metal humor right there!

I grew up along the Michigan border with Ontario and was always fascinated by the curling coverage on CBC. I never entirely understood the rules/objectives, but I still get pulled in watching if when its on TV.

I was watching curling this evening, because I can't seem to get enough of it and discovered that Chow Yun-Fat is a member of the Chinese curling team. I did not know that.

Did anyone catch Great Britain's last shot to win the game yesterday? It was pretty incredible.
