HTIB or Soundbar Recommendations

Hey guys, I’m looking for a basic but respectable set up for a family friend. The set up could be a 5.1 w/avr or a soundbar with sub. HDMI for tv, dvd and cable. The viewing room is about 14’ x12’. It should also not be too complicated to operate the remote. The budget is around $200 dollars ( perhaps this budget is too low?) I will make to purchase on her behalf, so I would certainly consider refurbished or used in pristine condition.

    Thanks DSkip, but was looking for hdmi connections cable and tv. I found an Onkyo htib for $219 on Accesscories4less. kind of leaning towards this for my friend.

    That would work for a small room. Just explain to your friend the limitations. You won't be upgrading big speakers to add to that receiver. If he plans on going bigger anytime soon, that system is not one to add much to.

    Thanks Tony, it is in fact a small room. I think the Onkyo will be the bee's knee's compared to her current set up. Her current set up might make a "White Van" special look respectable. She had me over to re-run the wires after a recent move. A real piece of crap, but hey I've learned to limit my proselytization to those who want to be saved from bad audio.
