Hello everyone in Polk land,
Does anyone have any knowledge on Monitor Audio? I have stumbled onto what seems like a really good deal, but I don't know much about them. The Monitor B2 models in particular. Thanks for any information I can get on this manufacturer.

They seem to be similar to B&W, appearance wise anyway. I see they are from UK. 4 B2 bookshelves and matching center, $250. I haven't inspected in person, but they look close to mint in pictures.

They sound similar to PSB. Decent all the way around with plenty of bass. B2's are from the Bronze line which is the lowest line of the three big lines (bronze, silver, gold). Considering their age, I would expect to pay 120-150$ for a pair. it's a good deal if you want the set but if you're just after a pair, not so much.

Oh, I read what you wrote wrong, I gotcha. They are for a smaller room, just a hobby room if that makes sense.

I'm waiting on a set of Salks and until then been using my buddies Monitor Audio Silver 8. IMHO they are excellent and are for sure the best I've heard (maybe I live a sheltered life), I'm hoping the Salks can best them.

Don't know about the model you're asking about but Monitor Audio seems to get reviews.

They do have a "british" speaker sound to them, similar to B&W but also share similarities with PSB as mentioned before. A little more laid back the PSBs IMO. Take the Image B6 and put a think piece of cloth over the front and you've got the Monitor Audio Bronze line.

Hmm guess that's why the Silver 8's don't sound the best with Country Music.....must be a lot of Jazz clubs in the UK, Monitor Audio, KEF, B&W, Wharfedale seem to shine in that area.

Agreed. I'm a big fan of PSB so i much prefer them. I like a more forward sounding speaker than the relaxed Brit speakers. Considering the prices you can get PSB speakers at, that's a good price for the Bronze's.

If I were to pick them up they would see 99% movie use. It a medium size bedroom that never gets used, I have found I enjoy relaxing in there watching my collection. Its a few hours to pick them up. was looking for some opinions before I made the trip just to find disappointment. I appreciate the input from everyone!
