Denon AVR 2307CI(?)

So... up in the hifi room I have this big ole box. The big ole box contains the titular Denon receiver and its accoutrements.
It was given to me a few months ago... and I am finally getting around to at least think about playing with it a little bit.
I'm just curious (even though I should probably just try it and form my own opinions!) as to where it falls in the A/V receiver pantheon... great, good, respectable, terrible, etc.?
I figured this was the best place I knew of to ask about it!
Thanks for your consideration.

Maybe im a big Denon fan so i will say those are very nice receivers IMO. Every Denon receiver i have ever had did a wonderful job. Well made. The new ones coming out i cant comment on but i will say dont turn the fan on high..

I used to own an AVR 887, I believe was the clone of the AVR 2307. It was pretty "sweet" sounding for an AVR. With the typical counter intuitive many LAYER deep set up that those Denons used to have. I remember when I used to peruse the Circuit City site almost everyone who had one of these was LOST in their manual. But I doubt you'll have that problem, Mark! I sold mine to a friend for peanuts and he's still running it!
I would have kept it if I hadn't come across a great DEMO deal on the higher model AVR 2807 which I have to this day. A fine performer with most of what you would need.
These receivers actually sound decent in 2.0 which is not very common! And do a nice job in surround. And they have the all important pre-outs. My Denon 2807 really brought my Polk M-70s to life once the Adcom GFA-555 was in place. Made a decent pre for an AVR, "softened" the Adcom just enough!
Those used to sell for, I believe $699 o so? And they're heavier than what followed. More of a robust build! Doesn't the CI stand for Custom Installation or the equivalent...it has a port for programming, no?
Enjoy!
