LSi M703 and RTi A3
Hello, had a general question. I have a Yamaha RX-A730 AV receiver. Want to add new front speakers and surround speakers. Look at LSi M703 for right and left front and RTi A3 for surround right and left. Anyone see an issue matching these? Since the surround is for effect, hoping this match will be fine.
Center speaker will be LSI M704c
Thanks

I think you'll need a little bit more power than the 720 can deliver.

I've always thought it was ok for movies. For multi-channel music it will be more apparent. Eventually you'll probably want to have everything match, but i think it's ok for now.
Where are you located and where are you getting the 703's? Thinking of selling a pair of my 703's and moving up to the 705's.
rfp may be correct. I'm not familiar with that AVR and I didn't even think about that when I replied.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -

I have used 703 on yamaha 720 and it did an excellent job blending the sound with monitor 35b I think you won't be missing much using the RTi A3 for surrounds. -

Located in So California. Was thinking Crutchfield to buy them. Ok so someone says I would be fine, others say I should match the speakers, and the 730 doesn't have enough power.
Now I am totally confused. -
Welcome Jeto!
The LSiM703's are rated at 88 db efficiency and the recommended power to drive them 20-200 watts per channel.
Your Yamaha is rated at 90 watts per channel RMS...which means you should be able to drive them ok....but the more power you drive them with the better they will sound...
As far as the surrounds.....well the optimal system requires all speakers in your system to be timbre matched....BUT...I have found through my experience, that you can have mismatched surrounds and still get a great system...Your Miles May Vary... and I also think that you just cant put any cheapo surrounds and expect a miracle... What you have suggested should work.
Why not try the system as you have stated, and if you feel a need to upgrade the receiver at a later date (due to budget constraints) then do so at a later time.... I am a fan of the Pioneer Elites - 140Watts per channel and QDeo video processing (which improves your picture dramatically).
